SpinCost — Manufacturing Profit Center Reporting System

Overview

SpinCost is an internal web-based profit center reporting system that I developed as part of my professional responsibilities while working at PT Asietex Sinar Indopratama.

The application centralizes financial and operational reporting for four production departments: Spinning 1, Spinning 2, Spinning 3, and Spinning OE. It transforms monthly operational data into structured financial insights covering revenue, salaries, overtime, electricity, machine rental, production output, waste, employee counts, and overall profit or loss.

The dashboard provides department and period-based analytics, including revenue and cost trends, production performance, profit and loss visualization, cost composition, reporting coverage, and department-level comparisons.

Each department has a dedicated reporting workflow with monthly records, detailed calculations, Indonesian numeric formatting, and automatic metrics such as cost per kilogram, contribution percentage, production waste percentage, labor averages, and profit margins.

The system also includes quarterly and annual reporting, granular user permissions, account management, report change history, access-change auditing, responsive navigation, and professionally formatted Excel exports for monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports.

Outcome

SpinCost delivered a unified and traceable reporting workflow for manufacturing profit center data that was previously difficult to consolidate consistently.

The application standardizes financial calculations across departments, reduces repetitive manual processing, and makes monthly and quarterly performance easier to review through interactive dashboards and structured report details.

Granular access control ensures that each user can only view or manage authorized departments and actions, while the audit trail records report and permission changes for better accountability.

Automated Excel exports preserve the reporting structure used by the business while allowing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to be generated directly from the application.
